Cathy Poulos announced today that Bonnie Allison, daughter of Karen Allison of the Cape Fear Garden Club, will represent the Cape Fear Garden Club Azalea Garden Tour and the NC Azalea Festival on the NC Tourism Float in the 2013 Governor’s Inauguration Parade.  Bonnie will wear a pink dress from Kay Godwin’s “Gone with the Wind” selection.  The Azalea Festival Committee had a sash made for Bonnie to wear over her dress that will read “Cape Fear Garden Club” on the front and “NC Azalea Festival” on the back.  Since our club and the Festival were both invited to participate, we decided to work together to pull off this event.  Bonnie will be riding on the NC Tourism Float.  Thanks so much to Karen and Bonnie for getting everything together to participate and for traveling to Raleigh to represent us.

The Inaugural Ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. this Saturday, January 12th, on the south side of NC State Capitol, facing Fayetteville Street.  The parade follows at 12:30 pm.  The Executive Mansion will be open to the public from 2:30-5:30 pm and is located at 200 North Blount Street.

Karen will be there to watch her daughter in the parade and take pictures to share with all of us, but everyone is welcome and encouraged to go and participate.  The 2013 Inaugural ceremonies and festivities will be an exciting and historic experience and we are thrilled to have been asked to participate.
