Come enjoy Southern hospitality amid the vibrant color of azaleas and spring flowers during the 65th Annual Cape Fear Garden Club Azalea Garden Tour© in the beautiful coastal community of Wilmington, North Carolina. An official event of the North Carolina Azalea Festival, the tour is one of the longest running and most popular garden tours in the South.

The tour will open Friday April 13, 2018 at 10:00am with the spectacular Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Greenfield Park Amphitheater, presented by WWAY. Entrance is free. Guests should arrive early to enjoy a pre-show of live music. The parade of the 2018 Azalea Belles accompanied by the Citadel Summerall Guards is the highlight of this ceremony along with the introduction of the North Carolina Azalea Festival Queen and her Court. After the ceremony enjoy the reception in the Rotary Wheel garden adjacent to the amphitheater where members of the Cape Fear Garden Club will serve punch and over 7500 homemade cookies.

NOTE: Beginning at 8:30am on Friday morning, there will be free round-trip bus service to the Greenfield Park Amphitheater from Legion Stadium, 2149 Carolina Beach Rd. No parking is available at the Amphitheater. We also encourage tour-goers to utilize Uber.

The 2018 tour booklet includes original watercolor impressions of our Bloomin’ Beautiful gardens, painted by local artist, Todd Carignan. Dozens of local artists will be at work in the gardens throughout the weekend during the 3rd Annual Plein Air Paint Out. Artists’ work will be on offer at the Wet Paint Sale on Sunday, April 15th at the Cape Fear Museum. A portion of the proceeds goes to benefit Cape Fear Garden Club’s grant program for beautification, conservation and education in New Hanover County.

Tickets may be purchased online for $25.00 (plus $1.25 postage) or may be purchased at any of the locations listed below. Admission is valid for all three days. Tickets will also be available at each garden during the tour. Gardens are open 10:00 am until 6:00 pm daily except for Airlie Gardens which will not be open to the public on Friday. Children under 12 are admitted free with a paid adult. Cape Fear Garden Club Azalea Belles© will welcome visitors to each garden throughout the three-day tour.
