“Our Diamond Jubilee, Celebrating 60 Years of Beautiful Gardens”

Enjoy Southern hospitality amid the glorious color of azaleas and spring flowers during the 59th Annual Cape Fear Garden Club Azalea Garden Tour© in the beautiful coastal region of Wilmington, North Carolina. This year is “Our  Diamond Jubilee, Celebrating 60 Years of Beautiful Gardens”.  An official event of the North Carolina Azalea Festival, the tour is one of the longest running and most popular garden tours in the South. Private gardens feature a variety of styles from whimsical cottage to stately formal designs and contemporary landscapes. The tour opens Friday, April 12th with the colorful Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Queen’s Garden Party. Tickets include free admission to Airlie Gardens on Saturday, April 13th. Cape Fear Garden Club Azalea Belles© will welcome visitors in each garden. Good all three days, tickets are $20 and include a map for a self-guided tour with descriptions of each garden. Gardens are open 10am to 6pm daily and children under 12 are admitted free with a paid adult. During the tour tickets can be purchased at all of the gardens.

All of the profits from the tour are reinvested in the community. The Cape Fear Garden Club promotes beautification projects within New Hanover County through grants made possible by the proceeds from the annual Azalea Garden Tour. The club is quickly moving toward $2 million in donations to the community, mainly for maintaining and enhancing the natural beauty of the Cape Fear region.
